BASIC TRAVEL GUIDELINES FOR PRE-FLIGHT
As the tourism industry gradually takes its journey to recover from the consequences brought about by the pandemic, the aviation industry has imposed several guidelines to stop coronavirus spread. These guidelines were also adopted by Sunlight Air for its forthcoming flights. Below are the things to expect from us and from local airports operating under the new normal.
ESSENTIAL TRAVEL
As of this writing, only persons who are traveling for essential purposes are allowed. Leisurely trips are prohibited and airport authorities and the LGUs of local destinations are strictly inspecting every traveler. So, who are considered essential travelers and who are prohibited to fly at the moment?
ALLOWED TO TRAVEL
Locally Stranded Individuals (LSIs)
LSI is neither a contact, suspect, probable or confirmed COVID-19 patient; has completed 14-day quarantine or has recovered from COVID-19 and already tested negative twice through Real time RT-PCR (Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction) test
Repatriated Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) and Overseas Filipinos returning to their residence
Authorized Persons Outside Residence (APOR)(ex. Business travelers)
NOT ALLOWED TO TRAVEL
Persons under 22 years old and over 59 years old
Pregnant
Persons with flu-like conditions
Leisure travelers
PRE-FLIGHT: BEFORE GOING TO THE AIRPORT
Once a person has categorized himself as an essential traveler,
Passengers must check-in online prior to flight schedule
Passengers are encouraged to bring their own alcohol or sanitizer not more than 100ml
Passengers are allowed with only 1 carry-on baggage with a maximum weight of 7kgs
Passengers that show flu-like symptoms must present a doctor’s note or medical certificate indicating their non-COVID related condition
Passengers must secure their necessary travel documents or requirements and must coordinate with the LGU of their destination and check all the additional requirements
Locally Stranded Individuals (LSIs)
- Identification Card
- Medical Clearance
- A medical certificate signed by Local Health
- Authorities from the place of origin
- Travel Authority from the Joint Task Force Covid Shield (JTF CV Shield)
- To secure a Travel Authority document from the City or Municipal Police Office, one must present: (1) a Medical Certificate from the city of municipal health office; and (2) a Barangay Certification proving that the person traveling has not shown any symptoms of COVID-19 for 14 days prior to travel date
Repatriated Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) and Overseas Filipinos (OF) returning to their residence
- Travel Authority from the Joint Task Force COVID Shield (JTF CV Shield).
- To secure a Travel Authority document from the City or Municipal Police Office, one must present (1) a Medical Certificate from the city of municipal health office; and (2) a Barangay Certification proving that the person traveling has not shown any symptoms of COVID-19 for 14 days prior to travel date
- Negative RT-PCR and DOH-BOQ Certificate of Quarantine
- Identification Card: Company Identification Card or a Certificate of Employment
